First of all, what is matcha? It is a powdered form of steamed and dried green tea leaves that is a mood-enhancing, antioxidant powerhouse, a natural weightloss aid, pH balancer and detox agent. It has much higher disease-fighting polyphenols, called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) than any other green tea (about 10 times higher). It is much more nutrient dense than standard green tea, our new superfood!
Making matcha latte takes a bit of patience. If the water is too hot, it will ruins the delicate flavor of matcha and doesn’t allow the nutrients to slowly release and open up as it should.
